When an editor called me and asked to put a brief bio together that touched on who I am and how I will transcend my campaign commitments into actionable points, I wrote the following. – Senator Munoz
I want to tell each of you why I ran, what the basis for my commitment is and how I will make change over the next four years.

Economic Growth
As the son of Eddie Munoz (former mayor of Gallup) who walked to Santa Fe to change laws that closed drive-up windows and changed DWI laws, I have seen our community in times of prosperity and challenge. The issues we all face today may be some of the most significant challenges each of us will face in our lives. Learning from my father, I appreciate the importance of business and economic growth. In Santa Fe I am committed to create a road map that clears the way for every member of my district and the City of Gallup to achieve financial success through hard work and opportunity.
Gallup presents a unique opportunity and a workforce to any new business looking to grow and develop with 50% unemployment and lifes basic needs tougher and tougher to come by I am committed as your Senator to ensure we are afforded every opportunity available.
Education
I have been married for 17 years and as a husband of an educator I have seen firsthand the impact of good education to foster growth and opportunity and poor education that impedes progress. In Santa Fe I will engage every opportunity to improve education for our youth, our young adults and those looking for vocational or further education to create opportunity. For Gallup to be successful we must be tooled to achieve and master whatever opportunities are available. Education at all ages is that tool and I will ensure Gallup has its proper place in line to grow, progress and achieve standards in education over the next four years.
Quality of Life
As a father, each day I look into my sons eyes and understand the importance of economic opportunities and education…but most of all like every parent I want my kids to have a quality of life that is better than what I have today. I want them to have every opportunity they can achieve. In Santa Fe I am committed to improving every one of our kid’s life quality by improving our infrastructure, addressing challenges with education and finding every opportunity for them to grab a hold of and pull themselves up.
I have lived in Gallup my whole life and I hope my kids live in Gallup and raise families of their own. I know my responsibility as a Son, a Husband and a Father is to do everything in my power to create a future for your family and mine that opens doors that historically may have been shut, that creates opportunity and dispels disparity. To say Change is coming, is a great slogan. To be active in that change is a commitment.
In Santa Fe I am committed to opportunities to make District 4, Gallup and New Mexico one of the greatest places in the United States.
In my spare time, I am always active in the community. I am currently on the Elks Board, New Mexico Amigo’s Board, Rotary Board, U.S. Banks Board, and the National Junior High School Rodeo Board. This activities as well as serving as senator are my way to do my best to serve the community in a positive way.
